I am a Consultant Dermatologist based in London. This is my dream job and something I’ve wanted to do since I was a child.
I am fascinated by the skin; what it can do for us and what happens when it goes wrong. I am passionate about helping those whose skin isn’t working or looking as it should. I know how much of an impact skin disease can have on our lives, from our own personal relationships to our jobs, our mental wellbeing, and our self-esteem. That’s why I always go the extra mile to ensure my patients feel heard and explain things in a way that makes sense and will empower them to understand and manage their skin better.
For doctors, dermatology is one of the most competitive areas of medicine to work in, and I have worked my socks off and travelled the country in pursuit of my career. I have won various accolades along the way, and make every effort to keep up to date with all the exciting new treatments becoming available. As well as my medical degree, I have also completed a bachelor of medical sciences with a focus on international health, in which I undertook research in India. I also popped over to Switzerland to do an internship at the World Health Organisation (WHO). My academic ventures have allowed me to present at international conferences and have work published in esteemed medical journals (feel free to google me!).
I have expertise across adult general dermatology and paediatric dermatology. My particular interests lie in the use of dermoscopy (a highly powered magnifying glass) to better diagnose skin cancer, as well as skin surgery. I pride myself in excellent surgical skills, making sure to provide the most cosmetically acceptable result possible. My patients know me for being approachable yet professional and providing them with a personalised experience.
Although I’ve spent most of my adult life training for this job, and have taken more exams than I care to remember, I have managed to maintain some interests outside of Dermatology which help me to stay grounded. I enjoy art, live music and going on walks with my anxious rescue dog. A lot of my spare time is also spent in my garden alongside my wonderful husband and our 8 month-old daughter.
So, enough about me. Whatever your skin concern, come along and let’s have a chat. We will work together to get your skin working for you and looking it’s very best.
