Ideal for patients who have a single concern to discuss. Your GP will assess your condition, conduct necessary examinations, and recommend appropriate treatment during this appointment.
In-Person Consultation 30 min
Best suited for patients with multiple or complex issues to address with their GP. During this consultation, your GP will thoroughly assess each problem, conduct relevant examinations and tests, and provide treatment or arrange further investigations to identify the underlying causes of your concerns.
Video Consultation
Sometimes an in-person appointment is not necessary, and a video consultation is the right appointment for you.
Video is suitable for patients with a single, straightforward concern to discuss, such as a skin infection, a follow-up after blood tests conducted by Dr. Dropin, or for requesting a sick note. Your GP will carefully evaluate your concern during this consultation and recommend the appropriate treatment. In some cases, your GP might suggest an in-person assessment and will thoroughly discuss all available options with you.

Standard GP appointments at Dr.Dropin is scheduled for 15min and is typically suitable for one issue. If you have multiple issues or a complex, long standing issue, or would like to have more time then please book a 30min appointment.
Do I need health insurance to book a private GP appointment?
No, you don't need health insurance to book a private GP appointment with Dr.Dropin. We provide affordable self-pay options for all patients.
Can I use my health insurance to pay for my private GP appointment?
We are currently unable to accept payment by health insurance for GP appointments but you should check with your insurer as some may reimburse you for the cost of your consultation and / or cost of blood tests or referrals arranged by Dr.Dropin. Please check with your insurer for your policy details
Will seeing a GP privately affect seeing my NHS GP?
No, seeing a GP privately at Dr.Dropin will not affect your access to your NHS GP. You have the freedom to choose private healthcare without any impact on your NHS services. We encourage open communication between healthcare providers for comprehensive and coordinated care.
What happens if the GP prescribes medication for me?
If our GP prescribes medication during your appointment, we will provide you with a prescription. You can have it dispensed at a pharmacy of your choice. Our team will also provide instructions on dosage and any necessary precautions.
How can I access my medical record?
As a patient of Dr.Dropin, you can access your medical record through our secure online Patient Portal. You will have the ability to view your past consultations, prescriptions, test results, and other relevant medical information. Please ensure you have registered for an account to access these records.
Will my consultation notes be recorded in my medical record?
Yes, your consultation at Dr.Dropin will be recorded in the medical record that you have with us which you can access through our secure Patient Portal. This ensures accurate documentation of your medical history and allows our healthcare professionals to provide continuity of care. We maintain strict confidentiality and follow privacy regulations when handling your medical records.
Will my NHS GP have access to my medical notes and record?
No, your NHS GP will not have access to your Dr.Dropin medical notes and record. If you would like us to share your medical notes with your NHS GP, you will need to give us your consent and your NHS GP’s email address and phone number (preferably).
